Hizbollah Chief:
Of Israel
Is Inevitable

From Agence French Press, via Jihad Watch:

Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah on Friday vowed to avenge the death of one of his group's top militants through the destruction of Israel, which he said was destined to disappear.

"The disappearance of Israel is inevitable, it is divine law," said Nasrallah at a ceremony to mourn the death of Hezbollah top commander Imad Mughniah and other militants killed in attacks blamed on Israel.

"The presence of Israel is but temporary and cannot go on in the region," Nasrallah added in comments transmitted via video link to thousands of Hezbollah supporters massed in southern Beirut. "Oh Hajj Imad, I swear by God that your blood will not have been spilled in vain."...

Hizbollah will disappear shortly. Trees and rocks will say to me, "Look here is a member of Hizbollah. Come and slaughter him."

And, I will.

UPDATE: Still more genocidal sabre-rattling. "Israel faces 'certain death': Iran leader adviser," from Agence France-Presse:

TEHRAN (AFP) — The assassination of a top commander of the Lebanese Shiite militant group Hezbollah has hastened the "certain death" of Israel, the top military adviser to Iran's supreme leader said on Thursday.

General Yahya Rahim Safavi, in the latest of a spate of anti-Israel verbal attacks by Iran, said the murder of Imad Mughnieh in a Damascus car bombing last week had enraged thousands of young members of Hezbollah.

"With this anger, the certain death of the Zionist regime had been brought forward," he said, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.

German Professors:
Nazis "Helped"
Establish Israel

Jihad-professing Islamists and Holocaust-denying Nazi-sympathizers have long been saying that the Zionist-project of establishing Israel as a homeland for the Jews is the work of Nazis and Jews conspiring together.

(For instance, you can read here that "The Jews in Palestine even allied with the Nazis against Britain in World War II, to instigate the creation of Israel." Or, here is an example of the same lie being put forth by an Islamic anti-Semite.)

The fact of the matter is it was the Islamists who conspired with the Nazis against the Jews. See here, for a history of the Grand Mufti al-Husseini and his establishment of Islamic Nazi armed forces in the Palestinian territories during World War II.

Now, a group of German professors are joining in by adding to the propagation of this abominable lie:

Twenty-five German professors have signed a letter in which they argue that the Nazis helped to establish the State of Israel, that Germany has therefore paid its debt to the world, and should be 'neutral' as between Israel and the Arabs. You can't make this stuff up.

25 German professors co-signed a manifesto calling on Germany to stop giving Israel "preferential treatment," because, among other reasons, the country "helped" establish Israel by expelling Jews from Germany during the rule of the Third Reich.

Approximately 160,000 Jews who were expelled from Nazi Germany ended up in the British mandate of Palestine and strengthened the Jewish presence here at the expense of the Arab population, they claimed.

Visiting in Israel as guests of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and the Academic College of Netanya, four German professors were debating their claims with Israeli academics who opposed them.

They claimed that approximately 160,000 Jews who arrived in mandatory Palestine enlarged Jewish control of the land from just six percent during the British mandate to approximately 60% after the War of Independence. Additionally, the Germans said their country has "paid off" its debt to the Jewish people by the sums it had given the Israeli government and survivors until today.

They admitted that the Holocaust was, nevertheless, an indelible stain in Germany's history.

The professors called on the German government to improve its relations with Arab countries by adopting an "evenhanded" approach to both Israelis and Arabs.

The debate was initiated by Dov Ben Meir, one of the heads of the Center for Strategic Dialogue at the college and formerly chairman Knesset. Prof. Moshe Zimmerman, an expert on German history, was also sitting on the Israeli side.

Ben Meir published his own counter-manifesto, rebuking the Germans' claims one by one.

Bottled Water
Is "Immoral"

The British government is not set to convince its proletariat that bottled water is "unfashionable."From the Telegraph:

Drinking bottled water should be made as unfashionable as smoking, according to a government adviser."We have to make people think that it's unfashionable just as we have with smoking. We need a similar campaign to convince people that this is wrong," said Tim Lang, the Government's naural resources commissioner.

Bottled water generates upto 600 times more CO2 than tap water.

Phil Woolas, the environment minister, added that the amount of money spent on mineral water "borders on being morally unacceptable".

Their comments come as new research shows that drinking a bottle of water has the same impact on the environment as driving a car for a kilometre. Conservation groups and water providers have started a campaign against the £2 billion industry.

A BBC Panorama documentary, "Bottled Water: Who Needs It?", to be broadcast tomorrow says that in terms of production, a litre bottle of Evian or Volvic generates up to 600 times more CO2 than a litre of tap water.

You know, maybe it's me, but haven't we been told by the leftist MSM all these years that tap water is dangerous? And, uh, now, bottled water is dangerous?!?!?

This reminds me of Nineteen Eighty-Four where one year the media tells the people that Oceania is at war with Eurasia, and the next year Eastasia is the enemy.

Paper or plastic? If you say paper, then you want to destroy the earth by destroying trees. If you say plastic, then you want to destroy the earth with non-biodegradable substances.

Either way, the message is, human beings destroy the Earth by the very fact of their existence. Gaia, mother Earth, is threatened by humans, who are merely an unnatural blight upon her body, an unwanted organism in the ecosphere, a bit of tissue it would be better to abort.

When I was four years old, I remember being in church and hearing the Minister say, "The people were worshiping stones and trees." I thought that was the most absurd thing I had ever heard. Worship rocks? WTF?

But, now I am an adult and I see that, all around me, people are worshiping mother Earth.

Paganism did not die. It became the environmental movement.

Match Man
By 2029

We are no longer living in what is known as the Postmodern Age. Postmodernism was defined as a time of no dialectic left by dominance of capitalism.

We no longer live in a time of no dialectic. Our conversation, our argument is now with our very future. The frightening decisions of our future are coming at us with a speed and an inevitability which make the future itself almost palpable already.

We have created machines which one day have the ability to take over for us, or should I say, from us. Or, should I say, we have created machines which will one day have the ability to BE US.

From the BBC:

Machines will achieve human-level artificial intelligence by 2029, a leading US inventor has predicted.

Humanity is on the brink of advances that will see tiny robots implanted in people's brains to make them more intelligent, said Ray Kurzweil.

The engineer believes machines and humans will eventually merge through devices implanted in the body to boost intelligence and health.

"It's really part of our civilisation," Mr Kurzweil explained.

"But that's not going to be an alien invasion of intelligent machines to displace us."

Machines were already doing hundreds of things humans used to do, at human levels of intelligence or better, in many different areas, he said.

Man versus machine

"I've made the case that we will have both the hardware and the software to achieve human level artificial intelligence with the broad suppleness of human intelligence including our emotional intelligence by 2029," he said.

"We're already a human machine civilisation; we use our technology to expand our physical and mental horizons and this will be a further extension of that."

Humans and machines would eventually merge, by means of devices embedded in people's bodies to keep them healthy and improve their intelligence, predicted Mr Kurzweil.

"We'll have intelligent nanobots go into our brains through the capillaries and interact directly with our biological neurons," he told BBC News.

The nanobots, he said, would "make us smarter, remember things better and automatically go into full emergent virtual reality environments through the nervous system".

Mr Kurzweil is one of 18 influential thinkers chosen to identify the great technological challenges facing humanity in the 21st century by the US National Academy of Engineering.

The experts include Google founder Larry Page and genome pioneer Dr Craig Venter.

The 14 challenges were announced at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Boston, which concludes on Monday.
